September 10: The students of Rishi Aurobindo Memorial Academy (RAMA) performed patriotic songs, dance dramas and skits on the life of Rishi Aurobindo at a function to mark 150th Anniversary of the revolutionary and spiritual giant of India. The students also hosted an exhibition with pictures, drawings, posters and art work chronicling the various aspects of Rishi Aurobindo’s life. The staff, students and parents, besides dignitaries and guests, participated in the function.
Among a host of dignitaries, ace mountaineer Piyali Basak, who conquered Mt Everest without supplemental oxygen, inspired the students at the function through her talks. “Climbing mountain summits is full of challenges and there is very little room for mistakes. My life too has been full of challenges which I have braved like the summits. Rishi Aurobindo’s life was also full of challenges and he showed us the way how to lead a spiritual and meaningful life. Life is full of challenges and one has to face it boldly and never give up. If you have a dream you should follow it with conviction and opportunities will open up for you.”
“Our School is guided by the life and teachings of Rishi Aurobindo. It is our effort to put into action the teachings of Sri Aurobindo in real life so that the students grow up to become proud citizens of India and contribute towards nation building,” said Mr Arjun Ghosh, Secretary, Rishi Aurobindo Memorial Academy (RAMA).
