December 10: The founders Sagar & Sohrab, hold an MBA in finance, and Firoza, who has a B.Tech led them to start the business. The founders earlier worked as Wealth Managers (Sagar & Sohrab) and the Development of Generic Monoclonal Antibodies (Firoza) before taking the entrepreneurship route.

The headquarters is situated at Sakinaka, Andheri (Mumbai). The business turnover currently is 10 Cr. The inspiration behind this was making a difference in all sectors with innovations & technology and empowering New ideas & production efficiency.

Initially, they started with visiting facilities that ran 3D printers and saw different applications that could be catered to AM. After Seeing these facilities, they first realized that the base of the entire technology is CAD Design. They started with learning the basics of 3D CAD Designing.

With their limited knowledge of Engineering or healthcare Dental applications, they decided to start their journey with Architectural and Custom Gifting applications. They Invested about 20 lacs, supported by their families, and bought a used color 3D printer. The initial challenges faced by the founders were that they did not know about CAD designing and absolutely no practical knowledge of different industries that worked for operating & maintaining machines. Their business model currently has a 360′ end-to-end solution. They work from Design Development to prototyping Services to batch manufacturing.

They also work as consultants for the adoption of AM of different technologies. They act as distributors of these multiple technologies and take care of the Installation, Training & after-sales supplies. Raw materials come in 3 forms: Powder, Resin, Filaments.

They are processed in the machine Via Lasers, Nozzles, Heating, etc., and then layer by layer deposited to manufacture the parts without a mould. The final stage includes processing and finishing. Additive manufacturing is a wide-scale technology that can be implemented in various
fields. The company initially started with manufacturing engineering products and then with the increasing demand for architecture-based 3D models and medical applications for human anatomy. They explored the domain of architecture and healthcare, and in turn, they also experienced a comprehensive response from these fields. This is how the company diversified into different product categories.

Quality and Time are the two main USPs of 3D products. Preparing the product on digital software and building it in a few hours gives this product a distinct advantage over the traditional manufacturing workflow. The quality is never compromised because of zero human error while manufacturing.

Pricing for the services is decided by the volumes and the number of hours it takes to anufacture. Pricing for the machines is decided as per the material cost of procurement + volumes of  production.

They want to help and change the face of the manufacturing structure. Thus to introduce this contemporary technology and bring an advancement into their industry. They have focused on automotive, electronics, household products, architectural, dental-orthodontics, die-mold, and tools industries, and all the industries where product development and innovative creation are required.

They are planning on an online platform, where they can cater to manufacturers and consumers. This online platform will provide 3D printers and assistance for workflow setup to the manufacturers and on-demand products. Their company has built its brand name on all the major social media platforms. They have successfully used these  platforms initially for awareness and now for increasing the technology’s knowledge base with the help of their brand. They believe that awareness about additive manufacturing will surely help to bring a revolution in the manufacturing sector of our nation & internationally as well.
The key milestones in the business are:

● Largest Architectural Model in India (Maheshmati Kingdom)
● Packaging development for Dr. Reddys
● Case study development for Dental Industry
● Part Replacement applications for FMCG Manufacturing companies
● Forming a team of 85+ people.

The toughest moments faced by the company were obtaining knowledge of manufacturing & mistakes committed due to that. Also, the shortage of investments was a big hurdle for the company. Their technology is in its nascent stage. People are never open to new technological
changes regarding business or manufacturing, especially when they have a set workflow. The major competition for the brand was about making people aware of their technology and how it would help solve its manufacturing issues concerning its conventional technology. Though a few are emerging with this technology, it will help increase the additive manufacturing technology into a full-fledged, suitable industry for manufacturing. Companies can also stay ahead in this industry by understanding customers’ business and if their requirements can be filled with AM.

Many brands have leapt to explore the possibilities, and we foresee many evolutionary and innovative products entering the industry with 3D printing.
