Dr. Shobha visited Nepal’s stunning mountains in May, thanks to her fascination with the country and its natural beauty. She was astounded by Nepal’s complete serendipity and stunning sights.
Dr Shobha became the oldest Indian lady to trek to EBC at 68. She made history as the first Mrs India Crown winner, and also the first National beauty pageant winner in the world to trek to the highest base camp on Mount Everest – EBC – 8K and also stay there overnight. ShobhaDevi says,‘’ if the beauty of the mountains can be preserved, Nepal will become a top tourist destination in the world ‘
She gave donations for the Sherpa community’s well-being after witnessing its hospitality and diligent, unselfish services in helping trekkers ascend safely and with the help of their expert knowledge of the mountains.
Dr. Shobha Devi Nakkana is an expert in diabetes and obesity. She is also a trekker, model, social activist, beauty queen (Mrs. India 2019) and, most importantly, a wonderful mother and daughter.
She turned from her interest in journalism to meet her father’s dream. She was accepted into the Osmania Medical College after placing eighth in the medical entrance exam. After receiving a postgraduate degree in obesity from the University of Wales in the UK, she continued to seek a master’s in diabetes. Additionally, she pursued three postgraduate diplomas in maternal and child health, geriatric medicine, and health administration.
Dr. Shobha has a great educational background and spent 20 years working as a doctor in the UK before returning to India. She has conducted numerous research works on her subject, attended conferences, and presented her work to eminent experts. She presented her research on diabetes in front of the International Diabetes Federation Conference in Korea in 2019.
She was a gifted student who performed well in the classroom. She pursued a medical career after completing her education at the prestigious Rosary Convent School. Making India proud in this field. She thinks that the Indian medical system will excel in cutting-edge therapies. She currently works out of her Secunderabad clinic.
She succeeded in every field because of her enthusiasm and unwavering confidence. She received the Mrs. India Telangana Super Classic title 2019 and Mrs. India Super Classic 2019, becoming Telangana’s first-ever national beauty queen. She managed to juggle her doctor career flawlessly with her endeavors in the field of beauty, which is important to highlight.
She is a recipient of the renowned Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Award for her valuable services in uplifting and educating economically weaker children. She is also the recipient of the Award from the President for her exemplary work in WHO projects and the Nataraja Nandi Award for her beauty and social service distinction. She even recieved an award from Sonu Sood for outstanding free medical services to thousands of Covid affected. Her international awards include the Dynamic Lady Legend Award in Malaysia, the Wonder Woman Award, the International Glory Award, and the Global Achiever Award, felicitation by the former Mayor of Hounslow- Mr. Darshan Grewal in London and many more.
It is admirable that Dr. Shobha is involved in social and welfare initiatives. She frequently goes to orphanages and nursing homes and travels deep into forests like Nallamalla, Bhadrachalam Forest, and Komaram Bhim to assist indigenous people in those communities. She gives out food, blankets, and other necessities and presentations on healthcare in these locations.
