Solan (Himachal Pradesh) [India], June 4: The Kudo International Federation of India (KIFI) successfully concluded its 2nd Kudo National Championship Cup at the Green Hills College of Engineering, Solan. From May 25th to May 30th, 2024, the event witnessed the participation of over 1200 Kudo athletes from across 32 states and union territories of India, showcasing the nation’s passion and talent for this dynamic sport.

President KIFI ASSOCIATION Sensei Megha Vora annouced that Rajasthan state won the 1st place gold trophy with a medal tally of 97 Gujarat state women 2nd place with a medal tally of 94 medals and the 3rd place went to Karnataka state with a medal tally of 34 medals.

The highlight of the championship was the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of KIFI Association held on May 26th, 2024. During the AGM, the eagerly awaited annual Kudo calendar was unveiled, featuring significant events and milestones for the Kudo community in India. Notable dates include a two-month training program with world champion Teraguchi Norihide across various locations in India, scheduled team selection trials for the Asia Cup to be held in Armenia in October 2024, and the prestigious 16th Akshay Kumar International Kudo Tournament slated for Surat in 2024.

In a strategic move to elevate Kudo sports in India, it was unanimously decided during the AGM to extend an invitation to a world champion to reside and impart expertise in India for a period of two years. This initiative aims to enhance the skills and competitiveness of Indian Kudo athletes on the global stage.
