Enactus HRC’s Project Inayat Empowers 1,000 Women in Charoti, Palghar

Palghar (Maharashtra) [India], October 1: Project Inayat, an initiative of Enactus HRC (HR College of Commerce and Economics), has been working since 2018 to make menstrual hygiene accessible to underprivileged and Adivasi women. Through in-house manufacturing of reusable cloth pads, the project distributes sanitary kits free of cost. These pads are sustainable, biodegradable, and last up to two years—offering women dignity, health, and an eco-friendly alternative to disposable products.

As part of its flagship Give Her The Wings (GHTW) campaign, Project Inayat conducted a major distribution drive in Charoti, Palghar, on 22nd September 2025. Research in the region revealed that nearly 80% of women lacked access to proper sanitary facilities. To address this, 1,000 women across three villages—Dhanivari, Mahalaxmi, and Murbad—were provided with sanitary kits, supported by 30 student volunteers and guided by college staff member Mr. Amar Sir. The initiative was carried out in collaboration with Adivasi Yuva Seva Sangh and Dr. Monali Sarvagoad.

Each kit included three reusable cloth pads, a bar of soap, and an instruction manual, designed not only to meet immediate hygiene needs but also to empower women with sustainable solutions. Alongside the distribution, the campaign held Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) sessions, helping women in Charoti understand their health, adopt safe practices, and break long-standing social taboos.

The campaign drew an overwhelming response from the community, reaffirming Project Inayat’s vision of creating lasting impact—one kit, one woman, and one community at a time. Building on the success of previous editions in Palghar and Nagpur, the Give Her The Wings campaign continues to expand its legacy of empowering women through dignity, awareness, and sustainable solutions.
