Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], November 24:\u00a0<\/strong>The inauguration of the Silk Fab exhibition cum sale of \u00a0exquisite Handloom products at Bhopal Haat, opposite DB City Mall, Jail Road MP Nagar, Bhopal\u00a0<\/p>\n

from 17th \u00a0 November to 30th \u00a0November 2023 \u00a0was done by the artisans and weavers on \u00a018th<\/sup>\u00a0November, 2023. \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Silk Fab exhibition cum sale is an initiative of the office of the Development Commissioner for Handlooms, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, to ensure direct access for the handloom weavers to market their products to consumers directly in various cities of India.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The participants are from various State Government Bodies\/ Apex Societies, Primary Handloom Weavers Co-operative Societies and Handloom Agencies. 60 agencies belonging to 26 states and 5 Union Territories are participating in the exhibition. \u00a0<\/p>\n

The Handloom sector of India employs more than 65 lac people directly or indirectly, which is next only to the agricultural sector of the country. The art of handloom weaving has traditional values attached to it, and each region has exquisite varieties of it. \u00a0The uniqueness of handloom silk products such as\u00a0Pochampalli, Paithani, Kanjivaram, Banarasi, Jamdani, Baluchari, and Ikkat,\u00a0<\/strong>to name a few, attracts customers across the globe.\u00a0<\/p>\n

These traditional silk products offer exclusive weaves, designs and traditional motifs. \u00a0Through these exhibitions, handloom agencies not only market their products at reasonable rates but also get to know the customers\u2019 choice with regard to colour, design and weaving for future improvement of the product.<\/p>\n

All the exhibitors at the Silk Fab exhibition cum sale have been encouraged to display the \u2018Handloom Mark\u2019 and \u2018Silk Mark\u2019 tags on the products with the objective to improve the earnings of the handloom weaver community.<\/p>\n

This exhibition \u2013cum sale started from 17th<\/sup>\u00a0 November and will continue till \u00a030th<\/sup>\u00a0 November 2023 \u00a0at \u00a0Bhopal Haat, opposite DB City Mall, Jail Road MP Nagar, Bhopal.\u00a0<\/p>\n
