Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], October 15: <\/strong>To foster curiosity and enthusiasm for science among students, Gujarat Science City organized a\u00a0grand celebration of World Space Week 2025<\/strong>\u00a0from\u00a04th to 10th October<\/strong>. Held under the theme\u00a0\u201cLiving in Space\u201d<\/strong>, the event witnessed enthusiastic participation from over\u00a03,000 students<\/strong>\u00a0representing nearly\u00a050 schools<\/strong>\u00a0from Ahmedabad and surrounding districts.<\/p>\n

The week-long program began with an introduction to the significance of World Space Week and its historical background. Students were then engaged in a variety of\u00a0interactive and educational activities<\/strong>, including\u00a0space quizzes, path puzzles, \u201cKnow Your Solar System,\u201d and other interactive games<\/strong>, designed to enhance their understanding of space science.<\/p>\n

During the\u00a0space quiz<\/strong>, students were asked general questions related to space, satellites, planets, astronauts, and India\u2019s space programs, providing an exciting and educational experience that challenged their knowledge and reasoning skills.<\/p>\n

Under the\u00a0\u201cLiving in Space\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0theme, students creatively presented their ideas, imagination, and scientific understanding through posters. The poster presentations explored\u00a0how human life can be sustained in space<\/strong>, the role of technology in enabling life beyond Earth, and the challenges involved. Outstanding students were awarded prizes to encourage and acknowledge their efforts.<\/p>\n

Throughout the week,\u00a0scientists from ISRO<\/strong>\u00a0conducted daily interactive sessions for students. These sessions covered topics such as the\u00a0history of space exploration, India\u2019s satellite programs, Chandrayaan-1 and Mangalyaan missions, space shuttle programs, the International Space Station<\/strong>, and the\u00a0scientific challenges and achievements related to life in space<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The scientists also explained how technology supports the daily lives of astronauts in space \u2014 including\u00a0food, health, water recycling<\/strong>, and how the human body functions in\u00a0microgravity<\/strong>, providing students with fascinating insights into real-life space science.<\/p>\n

Students also visited the\u00a0Astronomy and Space Science Gallery<\/strong>\u00a0and the\u00a0Hall of Science Gallery<\/strong>, experiencing the visual and practical aspects of space science. The various exhibitions and interactive displays offered both educational and enjoyable experiences.<\/p>\n

The main objective of this celebration was to\u00a0inspire curiosity for science, stimulate creative thinking<\/strong>, and promote awareness of space studies among students. The activities conducted throughout the week motivated students to explore new ideas and develop a passion for scientific inquiry.<\/p>\n

At the conclusion of the program, students left with\u00a0renewed energy and inspiration for space science<\/strong>, which is expected to contribute to the future growth of India\u2019s scientific community.<\/p>\n
